It was a profound privilege to be part of the Australian contingent from the
Province of the Holy Spirit in Marayong, travelling to Rome to celebrate the
150th Jubilee of the Congregation. This experience stands as my most
memorable moment.
During our time in Rome, we had the opportunity to reside at the Sisters’ house
on Via Nazareth, in the heart of the city. Sharing this space with Sisters from
across the world created a deeply enriching and joyful atmosphere. Over eight
days, we gathered with representatives of Associations from Belarus, Warsaw,
Krakow, France, the Philippines, and the United States. Together, we reflected
on the theme, “Love Went Out from Nazareth to the Whole World,” and shared
insights from our respective communities.
A particularly moving experience was visiting the places where our Mother
Foundress, Blessed Frances Siedliska, lived, worked, prayed, and died.
Standing in these sacred spaces brought a deep sense of connection to the
origins and spirit of the Congregation.
Closer to home, the Jubilee Mass celebrated on 13 September in Marayong was
equally memorable. It was a solemn and joyful occasion, made especially
meaningful by the presence of all the Sisters as we gathered in thanksgiving and
celebration.
The Jubilee Year has deepened my appreciation for my membership in the
Association of the Holy Family of Nazareth. It has reaffirmed the privilege of
sharing in the charism of the Sisters, particularly their vital mission of prayer for
families.
One of the greatest gifts I carry forward is a renewed sense of spiritual support
and belonging. Knowing that the Sisters continually pray for me and my
family—especially in times of difficulty—brings great comfort and strength.
I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity to participate in the 150th anniversary
celebrations, both in Rome and within our local community in Marayong. Sharing
these experiences with my fellow Associates, and under the guidance of our
Director, Sr Rita Apura CSFN, has been both enriching and inspiring.
