A Door of Mercy - Sr Paula

Opening the door in our church was deeply meaningful to me. It means far more than simply stepping into a new moment—it symbolises Jesus welcoming me into an entirely new era of life, faith, and purpose. It is a sacred invitation to leave behind what is old, burdensome, or broken, and to enter a season of spiritual renewal and deeper communion with God. Through this open door, I am called to a conversion of heart: to turn away from fear, sin, doubt, and complacency, and to embrace a life shaped by grace, hope, mercy, and love.

Jesus, in ushering me through this door, is not merely offering comfort, but transformation. This “door of mercy” is a powerful sign of God’s unending compassion, reminding me that I am always welcomed back, always invited closer, and always offered the gift of divine grace.

To walk through this door is to accept an invitation into a more faithful, surrendered, and spiritually awakened life. It is to trust that God is doing something new within me, drawing me into renewal, conversion, and a fuller experience of His presence. In this way, the door becomes not only a symbol of mercy but also a threshold of hope, restoration, and new beginnings in my life.
