Faith is often passed on quietly—through family life, shared prayer, and lived witness. This was beautifully evident in the Confirmation journey of Anastassia Emilia Doulas, the thirteen‑year‑old daughter of one of our Nazareth Associates in Perth, whose story reflects the living spirit of Nazareth continued across generations.

Introducing herself, Anastassia shares with joyful simplicity:

“My name is Anastassia Emilia Doulas. I am thirteen years old and I am one of five girls.”

Raised in a large, loving family and homeschooled from a young age, Anastassia describes her home as “sometimes a bit noisy and quite crazy, but I love them.” Her life is full and active—she enjoys playing soccer, swimming at the beach, and making music, especially the guitar, piano, and violin.

When preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation, Anastassia approached the moment with depth and intention.

“I chose to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation because I want to reaffirm my baptism from when I was a baby, and to also receive the gifts and the fruits of the Holy Spirit.”

She hopes these gifts will guide her choices and draw her closer to God as she grows.

A significant turning point in her spiritual journey came after visiting the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth in Rome last year, including a visit to the home of the Foundress, Blessed Frances Siedliska, in Machiavelli. That experience deeply touched Anastassia.

“I was drawn to her courage, strength and deep love for God and love for families,” she explains.

What resonated most strongly with her was the charism of Blessed Frances—modelled on the Holy Family.

“Her charism modelling the Holy Family is beautiful and that’s why I chose her to be my Saint.”

For us, the Sisters and the wider Nazareth Family, Anastassia’s choice is a powerful sign of how the charism entrusted to Blessed Frances Siedliska continues to inspire young hearts today. Her story also reflects the close bonds between our Congregation and our Associates, where faith is nurtured not only in religious communities but within families.

Reflecting on her Confirmation day, Anastassia shared with joy:

“My highlight of the day was receiving the Holy Spirit and also the after celebration food and cake. I had a truly lovely day.”

We join Anastassia in her joy and feel inspired by her love to our Congregation.
