Grateful heart - Sr Maureen Joseph

150 years sounds like a long time. Yet, I’ve been part of our congregation for one

third of those years. When I entered, we had more members in the congregation but the distance between us was greater. Today the world seems smaller. With our ability to communicate, gain information and travel, the distance between us has lessened. During our jubilee year, I have had the opportunity to participate in congregational activities both locally and abroad.

I felt the greatest impact of Nazareth during the “Forgiveness Experience” in Rome.

The input sessions prepared me for receiving God’s grace during the retreat.

Being more open and aware, I was able to identify the workings of the Holy Spirit

both in the past and present of my life.

Participating with our sisters from all over the world helped me to make connections

and be present to support them in their struggles, triumphs and healing.

The grace of God’s forgiveness could be seen, felt and accepted.

Allowing me to acknowledge the tremendous power and tenderness of God’s love.

I felt we had been sewn together with a thread, that no matter how far away we are

from one another we are still connected in Nazareth.

During our provincial retreat, God’s blessings continued as we journeyed together

through the Gospels. Recognising God’s grace in the present and journeying on in Nazareth in years to come.
