A gift encountered - Sr Margaret

The whole year of celebrating this milestone was filled with touching moments that are still alive in my heart and continue to bring joy and gratitude. Our main 150th Jubilee celebrations, both in Australia and in Rome, were deeply meaningful experiences. It was a joy to celebrate together with the Sisters, our friends, and all those close to us, sharing faith, gratitude, and a strong sense of community.

Nevertheless, the most memorable moment for me was meeting Pope Francis during a private audience. It was a wonderful and unexpected gift. Having the opportunity to speak with him and express our love and gratitude is something that will remain in my heart forever.

Besides the Jubilee celebrations and events, there was also time for reflection on my own vocation and my journey as a Sister of the Holy Family of Nazareth. It deepened my awareness of God’s grace and providence in my life.

The Jubilee Year was also an opportunity to look back at the history of our foundation and to learn anew about many of our courageous, faithful, and dedicated sisters. All of this filled me with awe and deep appreciation for every sister in our Congregation.

I hope that a spirit of gratitude for God’s unfailing grace will guide me to live a life that reflects the same unconditional love toward others.
